Cycles Ed New Trail Work Program

Bill Swann - Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Introducing "Dirt Work". This is a reincarnation of Dan Combers "Pay Dirt" program in which he would offer race entry discounts or points for his race series in exchange for event volunteer time.

I've got lots and lots of Trail projects in the works at the Scout Camp. Over 12 improvements ranging from simple trail mods to major new trail - - oh, and yes simple clearing of existing trail as well.

Here's the offer:

For each 5 hours of Trail worked, you'll be able to purchase any one cycling related product at my cost + the sales tax.

That would be my wholesale cost + the shipping + %5 Va sales Tax. Mondays are the current scheduled work times from 10am to 3:30pm with 1/2 hour for lunch. (other days, like weekends will be announced from time to time). Yes I'll expect you to work - not talk and stand around like a state highway crew and BS. No, I can't and will not modify work times to suite everyone else's time needs.

YES,  you'll be expected to show up on time so I can give instructions/directions as to what jobs to be done and where. This is private property and everyone is expected to be respectful of the property and values of the site.

This is work time - not work, then ride!!!

You must have your own tools like Hard and Soft Tine rakes, Hand Pruners, Small bow, or Folding Saw - other tools are plus. You'll need to bring water, Lunch, Snacks, bug repellent, etc.

Trail work:

Wed: 3/31, 10am till 3-ish - "Dirt Work" offer applies - read fine print in above post!

Sat: 4/3, 9am till 2:30.  -                                 " " " " " "

Mon: 4/5, 10am till 3-ish  -                           " " " " " "

If you plan on coming out please let me know ahead of time.
I don't have your  tools, please bring them along, as no tools = the inability to work = the likes of the state Highway dept. This is not a state run welfare situation I leave that up to the government.
