Bikes-n-Beers from Crossroads - Post Ride

Bill Swann - Thursday, April 21, 2011
Dartman, Robert Harris, Marianne, Crankee, Swannee, Bruno, Alexa, Daniel R and some others I didn't get their name all had a great time at the ride and post ride beers and food. Thanks to all for attending and thanks to Will for his hospitality and, especially - the Green Flash IPA (plus all the other good beer there!). The weather cooperated with a nice breezey night and no rain. A little spill by myself on the Maymont approach to Hodson's ramp added to the excitement...but that's mountain biking. Some photos from the night are below:

Topofusion Joins Richmond ASR As Our Newest Sponsor

Bill Swann - Monday, February 14, 2011

Topofusion and Richmond ASR are joining forces to help promote quality GPS software and top level satellite tracking. Topofusion has been tracking major races and they are presently tracking one the biggest dog sled races in the world - The Yukon Quest - http://www.yukonquest.com/site/live-tracking/
Their software also works great for tracking and recording your training data downloaded from your GPS device used during training sessions. If you want to try the software, simply go to their home website at http://topofusion.com/ and download a trial version. When you are ready to buy and would like a 10% discount as a freind of ASR, go to our public forums (if you haven't already, you will have to get registered...very simple and painless process) and go to the MTB section or the adventure racing section and navigate to the Topofusion thread to access the discount code.
I've been using their software for years and it really does well for me.
(I'm sorry for all this jumping around if you are looking for the discount code but we had to come up with a plan to try to decrease spamming/fishing codes)

Richmond ASR Annual Banquet

Bill Swann - Tuesday, February 01, 2011
Richmond ASR recently held its annual banquet. Phil and Lisa graciously invited us into their home where all team members brought some really yummy dishes to share. Following the awesome dinner, awards were presented to three members who went above and beyond the call of duty and promoted ASR by giving generously of their time.

Billy Moffett recieved his "Team Leader" award for the work he has done with the "18 Hours Scouts Honor" mountain bike race.

Tim Dunkum recieved his "Team Leader" award for the work he's done with organizing the team youth program, introducing and promoting fitness, adventure and the outdoors to the next generation of adventurers.

Marianne Swann recieved her "Team Leader" award for the work she does with as the "ASR Trail Liaison"; organizing ASR Trail Care team days to perform needed trail work in the James River Park; but also with other help she does as ASR Vice President, helping to run the team in general.

Great schwag was provided by ASR sponsors to show their thanks for our support of their efforts to keep the sport moving forward.

We all agreed that we're looking forward to another season of racing and adventure!

Some photos of the event!
